'Disaster Risk Reduction: A Collective Approach from South and Southeast Asia', publication launched

Consortium of South Asian Think-Tanks (COSATT), Centre for South Asian Studies (CSAS) and Regional Project Energy Security and Climate Change Asia-Pacific of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) held a publication launch of 'Disaster Risk Reduction: A Collective Approach from South and Southeast Asia' at the Mariott Hotel in Kathmandu on Oct. 8, 2021.

The research publication has eight chapters from Bhutan, Bangladesh, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and from Thailand. Honourable Member of the National Planning Commission Saloni Singh launched the publication while Lt. Gen. (retd.) Nepal Bhusan Chand and Prof. Meena Malla Vaidya shed light on the importance of experience sharing in the region on DRR. Dr. Nishchal N. Pandey, Convener of COSATT and Dr. Christian Hubner, Director of RECAP-KAS stated that they would disseminate the publication among think-tanks, government agencies, universities in South Asia so that the findings are known to a wider public. 

Ayreen Khan (Bangladesh), Sonam Wangdi (Bhutan), Dr. Nihar Nayak (India), Dr. Rasheeda Didi (Maldives), Veera Lamichhane (Nepal), Dr. Shaheen Akhtar (Pakistan), Prof. Gamini Keerawella (Sri Lanka) and Prof. Sangam Shrestha and Suwas Ghimire (Thailand) have contributed chapters in the publication. About 40 policy makers, strategic thinkers, academics attended Friday's function.
