Nepal Rasuwa Bhotekoshi Disaster: Number of bodies found so far: 1,204, number rescued: 11,993

Kathmandu, 18 Bhadra. Ninth day of the Bhotekoshi disaster. Bodies are being found in places including Rasuwa, Chitwan, Dhading, Tanahun, Gorkha, Nuwakot and Nawalparasi East. Climatologists, mountain and glacier experts are studying the cause of the flash floods. Volunteers including the Nepal Army are working to rescue and search for the injured to rescue the flood victims. Most of the rescue flights are focused on the Rasuwa, Timure, Trishuli and Dhunche areas.

A unified report on how many people died, how many were injured and how many are out of contact in this incident has not yet been collected. The government has established a single-door policy for distributing relief and assistance. For that, arrangements have been made to send money directly to the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund.

So far, 21,314 security personnel have been mobilized for rescue, search, relief distribution, and management of bodies in the flood-affected areas. 11,993 people have been rescued from the flood-affected areas, while search operations are underway for 4,216 missing people.
